In November's election 2022, the District has moved away from an "At-Large" election format, which represents the entire political boundaries of the North Central Fire Protection District, and has established 5 election subdivisions representing an equal population of the fire district.

A final map has been selected after two Public Hearings were conducted in 2021, accepting public input on creating maps for re-districting.  The Fire District Board of Directors then introduced five proposed districting maps that were discussed on January 13, 2022, and  January 27, 2022, at public hearings were comments was taken on the proposed maps.  On February 24, 2022 the Board adopted Proposal Map #5 in  Resoultion 22-02 "DISTRICTS PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 10010"
